Micho stays with Rwanda!

Amavubi Stars head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has turned down offers from several foreign countries, Times Sport can exclusively report.
The Serb, who has a contract with Rwanda’s national team until October, revealed that he has been contacted by over eight teams but turned them down.
“I am not going anywhere, I am here, I have a contract with Rwanda, and I am happy doing my work here,” Micho stated on Tuesday before adding, “I am doing all I can to help the national team to do well, I have not reached where I wanted to be but I believe we are on the right track.”
He revealed,
“I have been approached by many teams, but I am working with Rwanda, and I am committed to my job. I cannot stop other people from approaching me, eight teams have contacted me but I am fully committed to Rwanda.”
However, the former SC Villa and St. George coach did not reveal the identity of all the teams that have approached him but admitted that Kenya and Namibia are two of them.

This comes amid calls from the fans and media for his contract not to be renewed when his current deal runs out in eight months.
He said, “The team has not achieved some of the things we set out to achieve when I signed, but it’s a process, which takes time and I believe we’re heading in the right direction.”
When Micho put pen to paper, his first assignment was to win the Cecafa and qualify Rwanda for either the 2012 or 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals, but has not achieved any.
His focus now is to prepare for next month’s World Cup 2014 Brazil qualifier against Mali in Kigali.
“It’s going to be a difficult game for us but we have to work hard and make sure we are ready to take on Mali, who have just finished third in the 2013 Nations Cup.”
Under Micho, Amavubi have played 22 matches, winning eight, losing eight and drawing seven.
Meanwhile, the former Al Hilal tactician said Nigeria, who eliminated Rwanda to qualify, were worthy winners of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
The two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg in Kigali before the Super Eagles ran out 2-0 winners in the second leg in Abuja. Micho said, “No one recognised the fact that we played and lost to a very strong team.”
